Back to Shangri-La

So, after a very cheerful farewell from the river lodge

And a few of the sights of Sandakan

It was transfers and an internal flight back to the lovely Shangri-La Rasa Ria. Except this time no upgrade.  We treated ourselves to a sushi dinner and a few full price cocktails at the fancy bar with the jazz band

But still something wasn't right. We did one night and breakfast in the slums. Turns out that first free upgrade was a very cunning sales tactic. We've ended up paying to upgrade for the rest of our stay. Ahh, so nice to be home, have our private pool back, and buy ourselves some space from Australians. 

Although I'm still a little upset I've left the jungle without getting a picture of one of these for Dad.
